We Are In This Together

This compelling collection, titled “Unity and Boundaries,” offers a striking depiction of distinct individuals or groups, each confined within a uniquely colored box. Surrounding these boxes are white boundaries, whose characteristics vary—some are bold and rigid, while others are fragmented or extend beyond the box’s edges. These dynamic boundaries reflect how we interact with others in real life: allowing some into our personal space, holding others at a distance, or even crossing boundaries ourselves. What makes “Unity and Boundaries” especially powerful is its message of unity amidst individuality. Despite these personal boundaries, the artwork conveys a sense of collective oneness, capturing the delicate balance between personal space and communal connection.

The painting titled “We Are In This Together,” also resonates with the resilience and solidarity of the Western North Carolina community during disaster recovery from Hurricane Helene.
