Terri Sierra – Artist

Terri Sierra – Artist | Photographer

Hello – Meet Terri!

My name is Terri Sierra and I create art that is bold and colorful. I am on an art adventure, exploring and experimenting with acrylics, inks, watercolors, drawing mediums, glass, digital design and photography.

It was a natural progression of this adventure to create the Creative Eyedias Collaborative, a space where artists can work together.  My husband and I are the artist owners and have our studios and a gallery of our work in beautiful, serene Westport, Kentucky.

In the last few years, I sought a personal shift in my art practice.  Moving from creating through craft to a more visceral and expressive element of art through painting with bold, vibrant colors, I began to immerse myself in a body of work using color as a singular force.

As I interact with the public, showing my art and building relationships with people, I discover a sense of universal connection through my art.  The beauty and vitality of color is evocative by association. Color is a universal language: it draws us in, it is sensual, it is natural, it can heal. As I study the faces of people enthralled by the color in my art, their smiles and joyous sighs expressing happiness, I realize my art is to bring that happiness, joy and beauty to a calamitous and hectic world.  I strive to create art with a beauty that possesses a kind of magic that charges the everyday objects of canvas and paint with visible delight.

My ongoing interest is to continue to learn how to utilize color and composition to create beauty.  I work from sketches, photos and my imagination to create art that you can feel. My painting process is a delicate balance between color and composition choices and the intuitive expression of paint application. Using abstraction, complete with color, mark making and composition, I want to create an experience of beauty that will pull on hearts and minds, creating joy.

Artists who have influenced my work include Gerhardt Richter, Cecily Brown, Van Gogh, VOKA, Lesley Humphreys and Rinske Douna. My style and subject matter continue to develop through a natural progression of learning about myself, finding my voice and expressing it through my art.

My paintings express emotions held within places, creating a connection for all who view them. I invite you to experience the feelings of joy that my paintings will bring to your life.

A portion of all sales support orphaned children in India, so they have basic necessities and opportunities to thrive and know Jesus.

I’ve always had a love for beauty, nature and architecture in my art.
